9/22/17: With paving completed, construction on the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT)-managed Kachina Trail Reconstruction Project continued this week with more shoulder and driveway work. Riprap and check-dam installation for the road’s drainage system also was completed. The new roadway is scheduled for protective fog sealing by the end of this week in preparation for final striping operations next week. Shoulder contouring and seeding also is scheduled to get underway next week with a project walkthrough slated for Thursday, September 28.
The project’s contractor is working daily between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday with some weekend work possible. No holiday work is planned during this project; however, this schedule is subject to change based on weather and other unforeseen factors. The project is slated for completion this fall, weather permitting.
