The Coconino County Parks and Recreation Commission is a citizen advisory group responsible for recommending policy regarding the development and operation of a well-balanced system of parks, programs, trails, and events. The Commission is advisory to the Board of Supervisors and submits recommendations through the Parks and Recreation Director and County Manager in the development and operation of parks, programs, trails and events.
Two commissioners are appointed per District by the Supervisors. If you are interested in knowing more about the Parks and Recreation Commission and how you can be involved, please attend a meeting or contact the Parks and Recreation office (928) 679-8000. A meeting with your Supervisor will subsequently be arranged, so you can learn more.
The Commission usually meets at 4:00 p.m. on the first Thursday of each month. All meetings are open to the public.
