Statement from the Board of Supervisors on the Navajo Generating Station agreement

The Coconino County Board of Supervisors is pleased to learn that the Navajo Nation and the
partners at the Navajo Generating Station (NGS) came to an agreement to prolong the closure of
NGS beyond 2019.

"This measured, two-year approach, prevents significant, immediate unemployment. This also allows the County and our partners to better absorb the economic impacts associated with the potential closure of NGS. This extra time will help area stakeholders invest in job training and help diversify the economy in northern Arizona. We thank all the stakeholders for working diligently towards this resolution."
